Ph.D. in Environmental Science
Dr. Jayita Biswas is an accomplished botanist and ethnobiologist based in Delhi, India, renowned for her expertise in biodiversity conservation and ecological research. She completed her Ph.D. in Environmental Science at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, where her research focused on the Systematics and Ethnoecology of Gymnosperms in Ladakh. This comprehensive study included taxonomical, anatomical, and ethnoecological aspects of the species, highlighting her interdisciplinary approach.
Jayita possesses extensive skills in biodiversity assessments, ecological impact evaluations, and species distribution modeling (SDM). Her proficiency extends to statistical analysis and the use of GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS, enhancing her ability to analyze and interpret environmental data effectively.
With a strong academic background, including an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation and a BSc in Botany (Hons.), Jayita has contributed significantly to the field through numerous publications in international journals and chapters in books. Notable among these are her discoveries of new species and her exploration of local ethnoecological knowledge in Ladakh.
Jayita's professional journey also includes organizing and managing international and national conferences and workshops, underscoring her leadership and organizational capabilities. She is currently engaged as a Project Associate at CSIR-NIScPR, where she contributes to research on the hydrogen economy and S&T policy interventions.
Her career is marked by achievements such as winning awards for Best Poster and Best Oral Presentation at prestigious conferences, reflecting her ability to communicate research findings effectively.
Monica is a dedicated professional with a strong academic background and diverse work experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science from MDU, Rohtak (2010) and a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation from GGSIPU, Dwarka (2012). Her career journey began at Navdanya, New Delhi (2013-2015), where she conducted awareness programs on biodiversity conservation in educational institutions and community spaces, alongside preparing reports and coordinating meetings.
Subsequently, at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi (2015- 2018), Monica processed files and coordinated committee meetings, focusing on animal welfare and biodiversity initiatives. Her freelancing stint (2019-2021) involved research, project management, and event planning. Later, she contributed to event coordination and liaison efforts at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (2022).
Monica's role as a Consultant in the Logistics vertical of the G20 Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs (2022-2023), underscored her skills in organizing conferences and managing logistics for international events. She has also actively participated in environmental seminars, and workshops, and holds certifications in various computer software relevant to her field. Beyond her professional endeavors, Monica engages in activities like music, gardening, sports, and creative pursuits. Her dedication to environmental causes and multifaceted skill set make her a valuable asset in any organizational setting.
Dr. Kopal Verma is a highly motivated Environmentalist, specializing in miatmospheric chemistry and climate resilience with diverse experience in Disaster Management. She has served in the National Institute of Disaster Management and worked in various capacities for the G20 Secretariat in Ministry of External Affairs during India’s G20 presidency.
Currently she is working as a consultant in the Advocacy team of Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), an international organization launched by the Prime Minister of India during UN Climate Action Summit, 2019. She has done her PhD in mitigation of indoor carbonaceous aerosols in rural areas from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has been conferred with the NESA Junior Scientist of the Year award in 2018. She is the alumni of prestigious European Research Courses of Atmosphere from Grenoble, France (2020 batch). She has published various research papers, articles and book chapters on the relevant topics. She is also a meditation and life skills trainer of the Art of Living Organization.
Her education spanned various parts of the country, culminating in a BCA degree from Secunderabad, Telangana. In December 2010, she joined the Indian Air Force as a Logistics.
Officer after successfully passing the AFCAT entrance exam. Over her decade-long career, she served in three different locations, holding prestigious positions managing logistics and supply chain operations for the IAF. Her diverse responsibilities encompassed procurement, provisioning, warehouse management, fund management, and training, where she led teams to achieve set objectives.
She has furthered her education with a Master’s in Aviation Law & Air Transport Management, an MA in Human Resource Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management, and an Executive MBA. Following a year-long stint at Accenture, she is currently on parental leave. She takes pride in her extensive operational and aviation logistics experience gained in the IAF and aims to contribute to the logistics and supply chain sector both nationally and globally.
As a health volunteer with the Swasthya Health Community, she promotes healthy eating and lifestyle habits to combat lifestyle diseases and obesity. Additionally, she is exploring her entrepreneurial side, venturing into baking and creating handcrafted home décor items, though these pursuits are still in their early stages.
Jayashrinidhi Vijayaraghavan
B.Tech
Jayashrinidhi, a 20-year-old student of B.tech AIML at REC,Tamil Nadu training to be a data scientist. She started off as a content writer for DEVS REC, became a Junior Data Science Associate for IEEE CIS REC and is currently the Research and Development Lead in Google Developer Groups on Campus REC.
She has published 3 research papers on Deep Learning and presented at 2 international conferences, one at MAHSA University where her team won best presentation award.
She is an author who has debuted her first poetry book “The Songs We Swore Not to Sing”, and is currently working on her second,“The Girls We Grew Up To Be”, which explores the transition from girlhood to becoming women the world can look up to.

Deputy Commandant Geetika Saxena (Retd.) is a decorated and highly distinguished officer who served the nation for over a decade in Indian Coast Guard ensuring safety and security of our vast maritime borders. A NCC ‘C’ certificate holder with the honour of marching of Kartavya Path at a very early age, she is an alumnus of Indian Naval Academy and IIM, Kolkata.She hold vast diverse experience in supply chain management and field of security. Presently, she is employed with The Embassy of The United States of America, New Delhi as an advisor and analyst on security affairs local and international. She hold a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Post Graduate diploma in disaster management and an executive certification in Public Policy and Management and financial management. She is certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, certified internal auditor. She has been conferred with commendation from the Director General of Indian Coast Guard for her untethering dedication and commitment towards service.
Geetika is sensitive for the cause of women empowerment and has been facilitated by many agencies for promoting women in armed forces. She has been a role model and inspiration for many young girls from her NCC wing to proudly service the nation in uniform. She has done research in the field of supply chain management, maritime oil spill disaster management, role of artificial intelligence in the future and many more areas. She is also a qualified Yoga instructor and peruses singing and dancing.
Shivika, a 22-year-old, is currently a Masters Student at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Known for her diligence, she approaches challenges with a calm demeanor and a rational problem-solving mindset, ensuring she evaluates situations thoroughly before taking action.
She is a firm believer in equality, emphasizing the importance of treating men and women with equal respect while appreciating the unique contributions each brings to society. Shivika often highlights examples from history, such as the Chipko Movement, where women-led efforts to protect trees demonstrated their ability to inspire societal change.
Passionate about advancing equality, Shivika aspires to collaborate with organizations that support women in business and entrepreneurship.
She is brought up in North East though being a Bengali, exposing her to different cultures. She did her bachelor's in economics in the year 1998 followed by a LLB in the year 2002. She started her legal practice career from Guwahati high court where she handled a plethora of criminal cases, Civil cases, writ petitions, appeals and also women welfare cases. She also worked as a founder & member of "Purna Prayas" an NGO dedicated to women welfare. After 2008 she shifted to Kolkata and her career also took a shift. She forayed into the world of education and worked with prestigious organization's like CL educate Ltd, Times Pro, Flame University, NSHM knowledge Campus. Presently working with O.P. Jindal Global University where she is enlightening future talents into their right career path. She has added to her education with a M.A in Public Administration in the year 2010 as well. She looks forward to play an active role in Women Led Development. She has actively participated in various rallies in recent R G Kar Rape & Murder Case in Kolkata West Bengal & also distributed food to Jr Doc. Besides also she has have met with various Ngos of Tripura for women welfare tribal groups to initiate through WLD.
Wing Commander Rochna Sharma
Wing Commander Rochna Sharma (Retd.) is a seasoned military leader with 14 years of distinguished service in the Indian Air Force. She has served in the Surface-to-Air Missiles Division of the Indian Air Force, stationed at major operational airbases across the country. During her tenure, she made significant contributions to critical operations, managing complex projects and driving operational excellence in Missile Squadrons.
An alumnus of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K), Rochna has further honed her expertise at prestigious defence institutions, including the Air Force Academy, Air Force Technical College, Guided Weapon School, and Air Force Administrative College. She is currently undergoing Business Management Program at the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM-M).
An avid reader and writer, she has contributed published work to digital platforms. She is passionate about ESG and dedicated to promoting financial literacy among women. She aims to inspire women to take control of their financial well-being, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions.
